Three-time Tony winner Frank Langella's titanic title character in The Father keeps losing his beloved wristwatch, and so too will the audience lose track of time during the stirring, heart-breaking drama. Penned by Florian Zeller and translated by two-time Tony and Oscar winner Christopher Hampton (pictured below), the devastating work earned its playwright a Molière Award, France's most prestigious theater honor, in 2014 and concluded its highly successful West End run on March 26. Helmed by Tony winner Doug Hughes, The Father officially opened at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on April 14. Langella was joined onstage (and on the red carpet) by the enthralling Tony nominee Kathryn Erbe, Charles Borland, Kathleen McNenny, Hannah Cabell and Brian Avers (see above). Haunted by the toll dementia has taken on the lead character Andre (Langella) and the loved ones that surround him, audiences will not soon forget this compelling production.
